As it moves from spot-market freight matching to a full menu of freight tendering services, the National Transportation Exchange (NTE) says it will now be known only be its acronym, NTE. Incorporated in 1994, NTE now has the ability to move all freight tendered through a new alternative placement service. The company's acquisition of OpenShip also adds e-commerce capability for contract management, reverse auctions, rate optimization and requests for quotes.
