Private Equity Firm Completes Successful Exit in Challenging Market

Generation Partners, a $325 million private investment firm, today announced the sale of LVI Services, Inc. to Blue Point Capital Partners. LVI is one of the nation's leading industrial services companies, specializing in hazardous material remediation such as toxic mold, asbestos, lead-based paint, nuclear facility and power plant decontamination, as well as emergency response services. Generation purchased the company in a management buyout in 1997 for $30 million. Generation will receive $24.5 million in proceeds from the sale on an original investment of $6.25 million.

Under Generation's ownership, LVI Services has grown to become the largest provider of asbestos abatement services in the U.S., with revenues greater than its five largest competitors combined. LVI also provides additional industrial services, including full environmental remediation, lead paint abatement, emergency response, toxic mold remediation and demolition services to a broad range of commercial, industrial, and government facilities. LVI is headquartered in New York City, and has revenues of more than $150 million.
