Mark Jennings is a Managing Partner and co-founder of Generation Partners. Mr. Jennings operates out of the firm’s Austin office.
Mr. Jennings has been an active private equity investor for over 30 years and is responsible for the strategic direction, capital commitments and management of the firm. Prior to founding Generation in 1995, Mr. Jennings was a General Partner at Centre Partners, a private investment firm affiliated with Lazard Frères & Co. Mr. Jennings began his career at Goldman Sachs & Co. where he advised companies in the areas of financial strategy, public offerings, mergers & acquisitions and leveraged buyouts.
Mr. Jennings has served on the Board of Directors of over 30 companies, including on the boards of Captivate — a digital place based media company; Virtual Radiologic Corporation — a leading teleradiology provider which is transforming the practice of interpreting diagnostic images; inVentiv Health — a leading provider of sales, marketing and data services to the pharmaceutical and life sciences industries; MedVance Institute — a specialty education company, focused on allied health degrees and career training; Agility Recovery Solutions —a leading business continuity provider; Sterling Talent Solutions — a leading employment screening company; and Post University, a 120+ year old regionally-accredited university. Mr. Jennings is also a founding board member of The Musicians Treatment Foundation – a charitable organization that provides surgical and related care for under-insured & uninsured professional musicians so they can maintain their livelihoods regardless of their ability to pay.
Mr. Jennings earned his MBA from the Harvard Graduate School of Business in 1986, where he met Generation co-founder John Hawkins. Mr. Jennings earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering with Highest Honors from The University of Texas at Austin in 1984, where he graduated first in his class and received the University’s Rhodes Scholarship nomination.
